Safe to Grow: Child Protection

The church is committed to following the Home Office code of practice safe from harm and adopts the guidelines and procedures published by the Baptist Union of Great Britian in its booklet Safe to Grow. Our ‘Safe to Grow’ policy ensures that all our children’s and young people’s workers have been cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau.

As part of our commitment to children and young people the church has appointed Mr Deryck Holmes (safe to grow co-ordinator), Revd Mark Lawford, Mrs Margo Barkley and Mrs Averil Taylor as advocates. The role will be regularly explained to children and the advocates names, addresses and contact numbers publicly displayed.
